Yorgrim Overlook

Tiny one-room ruin northeast of Lake Yorgrim, west of Fort Kastav, with two skeletons in coffins, steel ingots, urns and a locked gate guarding a chest.

Yorgrim Overlook is a small, one-room ruin northeast of Lake Yorgrim, west of Fort Kastav and a little northeast of Forsaken Cave. It sits within sight of the dragon lair Mount Anthor to the north, though there’s no way to reach that peak from here. It’s a quick stop with a couple of undead, some loose valuables and a gate that will test your lockpicking.

What you’ll find

  • Two skeletons in coffins near the entrance that burst out as soon as you step inside.
  • Urns on the left side holding gold and/or gems.
  • A table on the right with three steel ingots.
  • A gate with an expert or master lock, protecting a chest with random loot.
  • An orichalcum ore vein on the hill just east of the entrance.

Notable items

  • Three steel ingots.
  • The random-loot chest behind the locked gate.
  • Orichalcum ore from the vein outside.

Tips

Have your weapon out as you enter, because the skeletons don’t wait for introductions. A couple of solid hits usually settles the matter. Save your lockpicks for the gate – it’s an expert or master lock, so a decent Lockpicking skill (or a big stack of picks and a lot of patience) helps. Bring a pickaxe so you can grab the orichalcum on the way out; it’s handy if you’re working towards Orcish gear. Since Fort Kastav and Forsaken Cave are both close by, this little ruin fits nicely into a wider sweep of the area.
