This Stormcloak encampment sits northeast of Morthal and southwest of Dawnstar, between the ancient tomb of Ustengrav and the Dwemer ruins of Mzinchaleft. A small detachment of Stormcloak soldiers holds it under the command of Arrald Frozen-Heart. If you are fighting for Ulfric, it is a useful rest stop; if you wear Imperial red, maybe take the long way around.

- Chests in the tents with items you can take – no lockpicking or guilty conscience required.

Quests
The camp is part of the Civil War questline and only appears while that storyline is active. Joining up through Joining the Stormcloaks makes this friendly territory.
Tips
For a temporary army camp, this one is unusually well equipped. You can brew potions, cook a meal, sharpen your blade, improve your armour and chop a bit of firewood for spare coin – all without walking into town. Sell to the quartermaster before you head off, then help yourself to what is in the tent chests.
Read the big war map while you are here. It is a cheap way to discover places without tramping across the marshes on foot.
Good to know
Unlike some of its counterparts, this camp is not abandoned once the Stormcloaks win the war, so the soldiers keep their tents even after the fighting is over. Rarely, fast travelling here may drop you from a great height above the camp – an undignified way to report for duty.
