These poisons do no damage on their own. What they do is soften the target: for 30 seconds after a poisoned hit, the victim is 40 to 100 percent weaker to magic, depending on the tier. That opens the door for a follow-up of destruction spells, and spellswords who strike with a blade before switching to fire, frost or shock get the most from them. Magic-resistant enemies are where the debuff pays off most.

Where to find them
Ready-made poisons appear as loot in the game world and in characters’ inventories, and potion sellers can carry them as well. Because the family is leveled to the Dragonborn, low-level characters mostly see the weak versions, while the Malign and Deadly bottles show up later in the game.
Brewing your own
Using the Alchemy skill you can brew these yourself and then apply them to a weapon. The Weakness to Magic effect is shared by Creep Cluster, Dwarven Oil, Jazbay Grapes, Rock Warbler Egg, Salt Pile, Scaly Pholiota, Taproot and Torchbug Thorax. Any pair of these at an alchemy lab produces the poison.
Tips
Thirty seconds is a short window, so have your strongest spell ready right after the poisoned strike lands. Element-specific variants such as Weakness to Fire poisons can be used for single-school casters.
