Frenzy Poisons

Frenzy poisons drive a struck target up to level 23 into a ten-second rage, attacking anyone nearby. Turn a crowd of enemies against itself.

Frenzy poisons do not deal damage directly. Instead, the creature or person you hit loses control for 10 seconds and attacks whatever is close by, friend or foe. Each tier works on stronger targets, from level 5 for a Weak Frenzy Poison up to level 23 for the deadly version. Against a group, one well-placed hit can start a brawl among your enemies while you step back and pick off the survivors.

Where to find them

Like other leveled poisons, these can be bought from vendors who carry potions or picked up as loot, both lying around and on the people you defeat. The tier you see scales with the Dragonborn’s level, so the weak versions dominate early and the deadly ones show up later. Each vial weighs 0.5.

Brewing your own

To make them with the Alchemy skill, combine two of Blisterwort, Falmer Ear, Fly Amanita, Hagraven Feathers, Human Heart and Troll Fat. Apply the finished poison to a weapon and the next enemy you strike will turn on its companions.

Mixing at an alchemy lab follows the usual rule: two or more ingredients must share an effect before anything useful comes out. Eating an ingredient reveals one of its properties (more with the Experimenter perk), and once an effect is known you can pick it straight from the lab menu instead of guessing.

Tips

Check the level cap before relying on one: a target above it simply ignores the effect. Spellcasters can get a similar result from Frenzy and Fury, and Fear Poisons offer another way to break up a fight.
