A cluster of floating lights in the snow looks harmless enough. Touch one, though, and the Wispmother shows herself – a ghostly woman throwing frost magic and splitting into shadowy copies of herself.
Where to find them
Remote, cold places: mountain passes in the Pale, Winterhold and Hjaalmarch. A unique Wispmother called the Pale Lady is the final boss of Frostmere Crypt in the quest “The Pale Lady”.
Avoidable
The wisps are passive at first. If you leave them alone, the Wispmother never appears.

- Very high perception – hard to sneak up on
How to beat it
Kill her three wisps first – without them she can't make Shade clones, and the fight gets much easier. Use fire. If you want to sneak, approach from directly behind.
