Elvali Veren was a Dunmer mage of the College of Winterhold who tagged along on Atmah‘s expedition to Labyrinthian. She never made it out. Her ghost lingers in the ruin as part of the psychic echoes left behind by the group.
Where to find them
She appears only as a spectral impression inside Labyrinthian, replaying conversations as you trigger them.
Quests
Her ghost turns up throughout The Staff of Magnus. Early on she can hardly believe they are really doing this. After Girduin is killed she is the one who wants to go back for him, only to be told there is nothing left to save. A little later she simply vanishes: according to Hafnar Ice-Fist, something grabbed her from behind before anyone could react. A side cave with trolls and a wall covered in bloodied, mauled bones hints at what that something was.
Personality & relationships
Elvali comes across as mild and even-tempered rather than bold, more nervous passenger than ringleader. Her colleagues on the trip were Savos Aren, Atmah, Hafnar, Girduin and Takes-In-Light.
Good to know
After The Staff of Magnus is finished, Elvali may occasionally show up standing on a small ridge by the road northeast of Fort Greymoor. She doesn’t do anything there and won’t talk to you.
