Estormo is an Altmer mage working for the Thalmor, and he is waiting for you on the way out of Labyrinthian. Ancano sent him to collect the staff you just fought so hard for, and to make sure you don’t walk out with it.
Where to find them
He shows up only after Morokei has been defeated, in the room just before the exit. He opens the door himself to greet you.
Quests
Estormo is the final hurdle of The Staff of Magnus. He compliments you on surviving the Dragon Priest, admits that Ancano was right about you being dangerous, explains that he has orders to take the staff and kill you, and assures you it is nothing personal. Whatever you answer, a fight follows. He is an elemental mage who scales with your level, so expect fire, frost and shock coming your way.
Personality & relationships
Polite, smug and entirely loyal to Ancano, Estormo treats murder as just another errand. Once he is dead, the staff is yours to bring back to the College of Winterhold.
Good to know
If you hit him from a distance as soon as he opens the door, before the conversation starts, he tends to run and complain rather than fight back.
