“Unseen Visions” is the quest where you finally read an Elder Scroll the Moth Priest way – with a knife, some tree bark and a cloud of glowing moths. With Dexion blind, you and Serana have to perform the ritual yourselves to learn where Auriel’s Bow is hidden.
How it starts
After you bring the scrolls to Dexion in Seeking Disclosure, he explains the Ritual of the Ancestor Moth and sends you to the Ancestor Glade.
Where is the Ancestor Glade?
In the hills of Falkreath Hold, southeast of Falkreath and east of Angi’s Camp. Inside the cave is a quiet, sunlit grove – one of the prettiest spots in the game.
Walkthrough
- Find the Draw Knife. Walk past the foliage, cross the fallen tree trunk and head down to the stone pillars at the bottom. The knife sits on a large rock in the middle.
- Collect Canticle Bark. Use the knife on one of the surrounding Canticle Trees.
- Gather the moths. Run through seven Ancestor Moth swarms around the cave. They’ll follow you.
- Read the Elder Scroll (Blood). Step into the column of light and read it. Each vision adds to a map pointing to a spot between Markarth and Solitude.
- Talk to Serana. The visions show a cave on Skyrim’s western edge – Darkfall Cave, the way to Auriel’s Bow.
The ambush
Your enemies have been following you. If you’re with the Dawnguard, vampires, thralls and a gargoyle storm the glade; if you joined the Volkihar Clan, Dawnguard warriors and an armored troll come for you. Clear them out, leave the cave and set off for Darkfall Cave in Touching the Sky.
Tips
- With the Alchemy perk Green Thumb you get a second piece of Canticle Bark – worth 350 gold and weightless.
- Only the Blood scroll gives the real vision here. Reading the Dragon or Sun scroll in the light just gives the usual reading and a spell of blindness.
- Bring Serana with you. Entering without her can leave the cave door shut after the reading.
