Dexion Evicus is an Imperial Moth Priest – one of the few people trained to read the Elder Scrolls without going blind (straight away, at least). He came to Skyrim looking for an Elder Scroll to add to his order’s collection, and quickly found more trouble than scrolls.
Role in Dawnguard
In “Prophet” you need someone to read the Elder Scroll that Serana carried out of Dimhollow Crypt. That someone is Dexion, but the vampires got to him first and locked him in a magical cage in Forebears’ Holdout. Lower the barrier with a Weystone Focus, rescue him and he reads the scroll at your faction’s base – Fort Dawnguard or Castle Volkihar, depending on whose side you’re on. What happens to him afterwards depends on that choice too.
Good to know
- Essential, so he can’t die by accident.
- Reading the scrolls costs him dearly – the Moth Priests pay a price for their gift.
