Trophy Room (Hearthfire)

Hearthfire north-wing homestead addition where you mount up to seven stuffed creatures, from skeevers to a dragon skull, on small and large display bases.

The Trophy Room is one of the possible north-wing additions for a Hearthfire homestead, sharing that wing slot with the Alchemy Laboratory. You can build it at Lakeview Manor, Windstad Manor or Heljarchen Hall, and it works the same way in all three. It needs the Main Hall first, and its whole purpose is bragging: a room full of stuffed monsters posed like they just walked off a loading screen.

What you’ll find

Building it

The shell goes up in five stages and needs 18 sawn logs, 14 quarried stone, 20 nails, 3 clay, 2 iron fittings, 2 locks and 4 hinges. Fully furnished, the room totals around 42 sawn logs, 50 nails, 21 quarried stone and 13 clay, plus small amounts of iron, glass, leather strips, goat parts and horker tusks. If you would rather pay than hammer, a steward will furnish it over time for 1,500 gold.

Each trophy has its own recipe. Most need a pelt or hide, some straw and a creature part: the bear wants bear claws and a bear pelt, the hagraven wants claws and feathers, and the mudcrab is just three pieces of chitin. The dragon skull is the easiest of all, needing only one dragon bone.

Tips

  • You have to build the bases before you can craft any trophy, and every furnishing is permanent once placed. Plan which seven beasts make the cut before you start.
  • Keep straw and bone meal on hand. Half the recipes ask for them.
  • Furnishing names can be vague, so one option may add extra containers or decorations along with the main piece.
