Misty Grove

Otherworldly forest realm reached through a portal in Morvunskar during A Night to Remember, where Sanguine hosts a feast and hands over the Sanguine Rose.

Misty Grove is not a place you’ll find on any map of Skyrim – it’s an otherworldly realm reached through a portal inside Morvunskar. You end up here at the very end of A Night to Remember, after retracing a blurry trail of drunken misadventures. Sam Guevenne did promise you a place where the wine flows like water, and for once a drinking buddy actually delivered.

What you’ll find

  • A misty forest path leading to a dining table in the middle of the woods, with assorted guests gathered around.
  • Sanguine, the Daedric Prince of debauchery, who reveals that he was Sam Guevenne all along.
  • Seated guests who can’t be pickpocketed or talked to properly – attack them and you only get generic responses.
  • Unowned items lying around that you can take freely.

Quests

A Night to Remember ends here. After a short chat, Sanguine hands over the Sanguine Rose – the staff you were promised for winning the drinking contest – and then teleports you back to the inn where the whole night began.

Notable items

The Sanguine Rose, a Daedric staff, is your reward from Sanguine – a fine souvenir from the best party you can barely remember.

Tips

Grab anything that catches your eye before you speak to Sanguine: nothing here is owned, so there’s no bounty, and once he sends you away you can’t come back. Morvunskar itself can be visited any time, but Misty Grove is a one-shot party. If the portal in Morvunskar still seems open afterwards, don’t go through it – reportedly you can end up stuck, with no host around to send you home.

Good to know

The background music is the same tune heard in taverns like the Sleeping Giant Inn, Vilemyr Inn and The Frozen Hearth – Sanguine’s grove is essentially the ultimate tavern.
