Giant’s Grove

Hidden grove beyond Fallowstone Cave in the far east of the Rift, home to giants and a shrine to Malacath, and the finale of The Cursed Tribe.

Giant’s Grove is a large outdoor area tucked away in the far eastern corner of the Rift, reachable at first only by going through Fallowstone Cave. The trail to it only exists once you arrive with Chief Yamarz during The Cursed Tribe. Up here you’ll find a shrine to Malacath, several angry giants and an orc chief with questionable leadership skills.

What you’ll find

  • A shrine to Malacath in the centre of the grove, with the Daedric Prince’s voice making an appearance.
  • Giants as the only enemies – they attack the moment they spot you.
  • One chest.
  • Four orichalcum ore veins around the base of the shrine and the edges of the area.
  • A campfire with a burnt body on a pole – not edible, even in Beast Form.

Quests

The Cursed Tribe – Malacath’s Daedric quest. Yamarz leads you here to deal with the giant who carries the prize.

Notable items

Shagrol’s Warhammer, a unique weapon carried by the giant near the shrine and the reward that ties the whole quest together.

Tips

Giants hit like collapsing mountains, so fight from range or with plenty of healing. Once you’ve been here, you can fast travel back, but you can’t fast travel out – the only exit is the long walk back through Fallowstone Cave, and you can’t wait inside the grove either. Grab the orichalcum on the way out if you fancy some Orcish smithing.

Good to know

The grove appears to sit inside the borders of Morrowind, making it one of the easternmost spots you can visit any time. It never counts as a cleared dungeon by itself – the game treats it as part of Fallowstone Cave, so it only gets marked cleared when that cave’s bosses are dead.
