Fura Bloodmouth is a Nord vampire and one of Lord Harkon‘s most devoted courtiers in the Volkihar Clan (Dawnguard). Her philosophy is simple: she eats when she’s hungry, sleeps when she’s tired and kills whenever she feels like it. If you join the vampires, she becomes a trainer and one of your main sources of work.
Where to find them
She can usually be found near the smithing area of Castle Volkihar, practising on training dummies with a levelled weapon.
Quests
After Garan Marethi sends you to her following The Bloodstone Chalice, Fura gives out radiant jobs:
- The Hunt: quietly kill a Dawnguard spy disguised as a travelling merchant, bard or pilgrim. The body itself is the message.
- Culling the Beast: put down a group of feral vampires that are upsetting the mortals.
- Protecting the Bloodline: kill a rogue vampire who has teamed up with necromancers and might start his own brood.
- Destroying the Dawnguard: strike at the leaders of the Dawnguard in their fort in the Rift before they can raise a bigger army.
Services
Fura is a master trainer in Two-Handed, but only once you have joined Harkon’s court. She claims to crush skulls as well as anyone.
Personality & relationships
Fura is fiercely loyal to Harkon and happily carries out his orders. As she puts it, when he says kill, she kills, and sometimes he doesn’t even need to ask. She has zero interest in court politics and is sick of the endless feud between Orthjolf and Vingalmo. She’d be happy if they finally killed each other. She thinks little of the feral “thin-bloods” and admits that killing a few soon cures you of any sympathy for them. Talk to her as a mortal and she makes it clear you smell like dinner.
Good to know
Despite teaching Two-Handed, she is only ever seen fighting with one-handed weapons. She is essential if you join the vampires, and stays essential under the Dawnguard path only until the story turns her into an enemy.
