Skirmisher’s potions boost your Light Armor skill for one minute. A higher skill makes the light armor you are wearing more effective, so the potions act as a quick defensive buff before a hard fight. They suit archers, thieves and fast melee builds that avoid heavy plate but still want to soak a few more hits when things go wrong.
All tiers
| Name | Effect | Value | Weight | Form ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skirmisher’s Potion | Light Armor skill +10 for 60 seconds | 45 | 0.5 | 0003eb30 |
| Skirmisher’s Draught | Light Armor skill +15 for 60 seconds | 70 | 0.5 | 000398fd |
| Skirmisher’s Philter | Light Armor skill +20 for 60 seconds | 96 | 0.5 | 00039903 |
| Skirmisher’s Elixir | Light Armor skill +25 for 60 seconds | 123 | 0.5 | 00039904 |
Each tier adds five points more than the one before it, and all of them last the same 60 seconds.
Where to find them
Like most stock potions in Skyrim, these are leveled: the stronger versions turn up more often as the Dragonborn gains levels. They can be bought from merchants who deal in potions, found as loot in dungeons and on enemies, or simply made at an alchemy lab.
Brewing your own
The Alchemy skill lets you brew the effect yourself from any pair of these ingredients: Beehive Husk, Hawk Feathers, Honeycomb, Luna Moth Wing, Skeever Tail. Any two ingredients that share an effect will combine into a potion at an alchemy lab. If you are unsure what an ingredient does, eating one reveals one of its hidden effects, and the Experimenter perk reveals more per bite, so you can later pick the effect straight from the lab menu instead of guessing.
Tips
Because the bonus is a flat skill increase, it matters most on characters whose Light Armor skill is still low. Save the stronger versions for boss fights rather than drinking them on every bandit camp.
