Silver is the jeweller’s metal of Skyrim. A Silver Ingot is worth 50 gold and is used in 8 forge recipes, all of them rings and necklaces, from plain silver bands to versions set with rubies, garnets, sapphires and emeralds. Jewelry crafting is a cheap way to gain Smithing experience, and silver makes a neat sale on its own.
How to get it
Smelt two
Silver Ore into one ingot. Sanuarach Mine and Cidhna Mine in Markarth have 7 and 6 veins, Benkongerike and Sunderstone Gorge have 4 each. The Transmute spell can also turn
Iron Ore into silver ore.
Unlike most metals, it is rarely sold; the regular seller is Moth gro-Bagol, the blacksmith in Markarth. Bandits and adventurers sometimes carry an ingot.
Loose ingots are surprisingly plentiful in wealthy homes: Dragonsreach Jarl’s Quarters has 9, Forsaken Cave 8, and the Solitude Blacksmith, the Treasury House and Frossel 6 each. Cidhna Mine has 4 more.
Since silver jewelry needs only one ingot plus an optional gem, it is an easy way to turn spare ore into something worth enchanting or selling.
