This is a small but practical field camp pitched by a band of Imperial Legion troops in the wild country around Morthal. It only exists while the Civil War questline is running, so do not be surprised if you never stumble across it on an ordinary playthrough. For Legion recruits it is a handy pit stop; for Stormcloak sympathisers it is a tent full of people who would rather you were not there.
What you’ll find
- Imperial soldiers on guard around the tents – a small band, but a functional one.
- An Imperial Quartermaster who offers blacksmith services.
- A large map in one of the tents – studying it adds new locations to your own map.
- Crafting stations: an anvil, two grindstones and a workbench.
Quests
The camp is tied to the Civil War questline and may come into play depending on which side you choose. If you are a Legion soldier – see Joining the Legion – it is friendly ground. If you have signed up with the Stormcloaks, treat it with caution.
Tips
Take a moment to read the war map. It is one of the easiest ways to fill blank spots on your world map without walking through the marshes yourself, and marsh walking is rarely anyone’s favourite activity.
With an anvil, two grindstones and a workbench all in one place, this is a decent spot to sharpen and patch your gear before heading out. Pair it with the quartermaster’s services and you can sell off spare loot and leave lighter and better armed.
Good to know
Since the camp only exists during the Civil War questline, do not count on it as a permanent base – use its services while it is around.
