Dainty Sload

Corsair-crewed ship anchored near Solitude Lighthouse, target of a Thieves Guild special job and home to one of the Stones of Barenziah.

The Dainty Sload is a ship lying at anchor near the lighthouse northeast of Solitude. Its crew are corsairs, and they are not big on visitors – step aboard or even swim too close and the whole deck turns hostile. Most players end up here on business for the Thieves Guild, or while hunting down shiny gemstones.

What you’ll find

  • A hostile corsair crew who attack as soon as you board or get near the ship.
  • The First Mate’s desk, which holds some of the best loot on board.
  • After the Thieves Guild job, the Balmora Blue can be found here.

Quests

  • The Dainty Sload – one of the Thieves Guild’s special jobs takes place on this ship.
  • No Stone Unturned – one of the Stones of Barenziah is on the ship.

Notable items

  • A Stone of Barenziah on the First Mate’s desk.
  • Three copies of The Firmament on the same desk.
  • Speech skill book A Dance in Fire, v6.

Tips

Because the corsairs turn hostile the moment you get close, decide on your plan before you swim out. A stealthy approach lets you pick the moment of the fight, while a loud one means taking on the crew on a cramped deck – fun, but messy.

If you are collecting the Stones of Barenziah, grab the one on the First Mate’s desk and the skill book in the same trip. There is no reason to come back for seconds.

Good to know

The ship takes its name from sloads, slug-like creatures said to live on the semi-submerged continent of Thras. Whether the “dainty” is ironic is left to your imagination.
