Duskglow Crevice is a cave south of Dawnstar, northwest of Silverdrift Lair. A bandit crew moved in and is trying to clear out the Falmer who were already living deeper inside – a classic case of picking the wrong neighbours. You get to walk into the middle of that feud and take advantage of both sides being busy.
What you’ll find
- Bandits near the entrance, with Falmer, chaurus and skeevers further in.
- A barred gate in the main section where you first meet two Falmer. A switch just left of the staircase on the second level opens it.
- A chain hidden on the floor above, on the wall next to a flaming white bowl, which opens a quicker way out.
- A room with an upright sarcophagus, a small table, a clothes iron and a rock column – home of the moth jar and a skill book.
Quests
Family Heirloom – a local family had a valuable stolen and believes the thieves took it to Duskglow Crevice. You’re asked to fetch it back.
Notable items
- Purloined Shadows – Pickpocket skill book.
- The Wolf Queen, Book I – Lockpicking skill book.
- Captured Critter: Moth in a Jar, on an end table in the Purloined Shadows room.
- A leveled helmet under the table beside the stairs in that same room.
- Possible location of Meridia’s Beacon, and of the books Wind and Sand and Hanging Gardens.
Tips
Sneak in and listen: two bandits by the entrance chat about their boss planning to carve up the “creepy cave people”, and one moans that a Falmer stole his good helmet. That helmet really is down there – it’s the leveled one under the table in the last section, so you can collect it on his behalf (he won’t be needing it). Let the bandits and Falmer wear each other down before you step in. When you’re done, use the hidden chain by the white flame bowl to open the shortcut instead of trudging all the way back.
