Skybound Watch Pass

Ancient Nordic tunnel through the mountain above Riverwood linking North and South Skybound Watch, held by bandits and a Giant Frostbite Spider.

Skybound Watch Pass is an old Nordic stone tunnel running through the mountain above Riverwood. It connects North Skybound Watch to South Skybound Watch and slopes downhill from north to south. It’s short, it’s nasty, and it has a decent skill book.

What you’ll find

  • Three sections separated by iron doors.
  • North section: two bandits, a bookshelf, a locked chest and a battering ram trap in the hallway.
  • Middle section: the lair of a Giant Frostbite Spider, all cobwebs, egg sacs and leftover snacks.
  • South section: a damp tunnel with water leaking through the stonework, three more bandits, a trapped chest and a wooden ramp up to the southern exit.
  • Ingredients: hanging moss in both end sections, jazbay grapes by the stairs at the south end, and two spider eggs in the spider room.

Notable items

Tips

  • Watch for the pressure plate in the north hallway that sets off the battering ram.
  • Come in from the south side for a laugh: one of the northern bandits often charges you, steps on that same plate and takes himself out. Free XP of the morally clean kind.
  • Check the southern chest for traps before you open it.
