The Ebony Mace is a quiet overachiever. With 16 base damage it hits exactly as hard as the Daedric Mace, yet it weighs 19 instead of 20 and costs far less to forge. For a one-handed blunt build that does not want to hunt Daedra hearts, it is arguably the best mace in the base game.
It looks the part too: black ebony with silver detailing, an eight-flanged head that flares into sharp tips, a shaft covered in silver geometric patterns and a spiked pommel. It belongs with Ebony Armor on any dark, heavy-armored warrior.

Tips and notes
- Forging needs Smithing 80 and the Ebony Smithing perk: three
Ebony Ingots and one
Leather Strip. - Temper it with an Ebony Ingot; Ebony Smithing doubles the improvement.
- Unless you specifically want the Daedric look, there is little reason to pay the Daedra heart for the Daedric Mace.
