The Daedric Greatsword is the strongest greatsword you can forge from ordinary materials in the base game, with 24 base damage. It is a nasty-looking thing: both edges are serrated, and the blade and grip carry the faint red glow typical of Daedric gear.
It is the weapon of choice for the Dremora, so if you summon one you will see it in action. For the Dragonborn, it marks the top of the classic two-handed sword tier, costing five 
ebony ingots, three leather strips and a daedra heart to forge. At 23 weight and 2,500 gold, it is both a prize and a weighty one.

Where to find
- Unenchanted ones can turn up from level 27, but appear more reliably from level 46; enchanted versions from level 47, and rarely.
- Sold by blacksmiths and general goods merchants at high levels.
- Random loot in chests.
- Enchanted versions may drop from revered and legendary dragons.
Crafting and upgrading
Crafting at a forge: 5 × Ebony Ingot, 3 × 
Leather Strips, 1 × Daedra Heart. Requires the Daedric Smithing Smithing perk.
Improving at a grindstone: 1 × Ebony Ingot. The Arcane Blacksmith perk doubles the improvement.

Tips and notes
- Improve it at a grindstone with an ebony ingot; Daedric Smithing doubles the improvement.
- Forging needs Smithing 90 and Daedric Smithing.
- Atronach Forge recipe: a Sigil Stone, a daedra heart, an Ebony Greatsword, a Centurion Dynamo Core and a black soul gem. The Sigil Stone comes from the Conjuration ritual quest, which needs Conjuration 90.
- Dremora summoned with Conjure Dremora Lord wield one.
