Detect Dead is the counterpart to Detect Life: it shows corpses, undead and reanimated bodies through walls. Perfect for spotting that “dead” draugr before it wakes up – or for finding bodies you haven’t looted yet. Note that the tome itself calls it “Detect Undead”.
Tips
It doesn’t work on automatons, ash piles, Dragon Priest husks or Daedra.
