Frostmoon Crag

Werewolf camp on Solstheim, home of the Frostmoon Pack led by Majni – only welcoming to fellow werewolves and the starting point of The Frostmoon Hunters.

Frostmoon Crag is the home of the Frostmoon Pack, a group of werewolves living on Solstheim, added with the Dragonborn expansion. It lies in the island’s interior, not far west of the Altar of Thrond. Unless you carry the beast blood yourself, this is a place you visit briefly – the pack makes it very clear you’re not wanted.

What you’ll find

  • Majni – leader of the Frostmoon Pack, and a merchant of sorts: four unique rings can normally be bought from him.
  • Akar, Hjordis and Rakel – the other pack members.
  • A small camp – despite the cave icon on the map, there is no interior at all. It’s simply an open-air camp.

Quests

Frostmoon Crag is tied to The Frostmoon Hunters, which is only available to a Dragonborn who is a werewolf. Non-werewolves get a warning to leave; ignoring that warning turns the whole pack hostile.

Notable items

  • Four unique rings sold by Majni (only while the pack is alive)

Tips

If you’re a werewolf, keep an eye out for a friendly werewolf roaming the wilderness; talk to it and it will mark Frostmoon Crag on your map, saving you a lot of wandering. If you’re not a werewolf, think twice before overstaying your welcome. Killing the pack doesn’t just make for an awkward evening – if the members die, Majni’s four unique rings can no longer be acquired the normal way. Combat-happy players who want those rings later should leave the pack alone.

Since there’s no interior to sneak through, stealth won’t help much here. Either be invited, or be gone.

Good to know

The map icon promises a cave, but don’t bother looking for an entrance – the “crag” is all there is. Even werewolves, it seems, sometimes prefer sleeping under the stars.
