Rakel is a Nord werewolf and a member of the Frostmoon Pack, which makes its home at Frostmoon Crag on Solstheim (Dragonborn). She was born into the wild life: her parents were members of the pack, and after they died the pack elders Majni and Akar raised her and taught her to hunt. She admits she is not quite as good at it as they are, which is refreshingly honest for a werewolf.
Where to find them
Rakel is found under Frostmoon Crag with the rest of the pack. She is usually the first to meet anyone who comes near the camp, and her default greeting is a polite but firm suggestion to turn around and leave.
Personality & relationships
If you are a werewolf yourself, her attitude flips: she smells the beast blood on you, apologises, introduces herself and welcomes you as a fellow pack member. Ask whether she would ever live in a city and she scoffs at the idea – townsfolk hide behind walls, scared of every ash hopper and netch, while she prefers to be free to hunt and live as she pleases. She parts with a blessing from Hircine.
Good to know
If you are a werewolf and have spoken to her, Rakel can turn up as one of the kidnapped people in the radiant quest ‘Rescue’ from Dawnguard.
