Fortify Magicka potions, sold and looted under the name Extra Magicka, temporarily enlarge your Magicka pool. Depending on the tier, you gain between 20 and 100 extra points for 60 seconds. That headroom lets a mage squeeze in another expensive spell before running dry, which makes these bottles handy before a boss or a dragon. They raise the maximum rather than refilling it, so they work best alongside potions that restore or regenerate Magicka.

Where to find them
These are ordinary leveled potions. You can buy them from merchants who stock potions, and they turn up as loot in the world and in the inventories of other characters. Because they are leveled, the stronger tiers become more common as the Dragonborn gains levels. Every bottle weighs 0.5.
Brewing your own
Using the Alchemy skill, you can brew them from Briar Heart, Ectoplasm, Histcarp, Jazbay Grapes, Red Mountain Flower, Tundra Cotton and Void Salts. Any two of these share the effect and will produce the potion.
Mixing at an alchemy lab follows the usual rule: two or more ingredients must share an effect before anything useful comes out. Eating an ingredient reveals one of its properties (more with the Experimenter perk), and once an effect is known you can pick it straight from the lab menu instead of guessing.
Tips
Combine one with Regenerate Magicka Potions for a longer casting session: one gives you a bigger tank, the other refills it faster.
