Bread

Bread is a basic loaf in Skyrim that restores 2 Health and, with Hearthfire, can be baked at a home oven from four simple ingredients.

Bread is the everyday loaf of Skyrim, a light and cheap food worth 2 gold. On its own it barely matters as healing, but it is also the starting point for one of the Hearthfire oven dishes, which makes it worth keeping a loaf or two at home.

Effects

Eating Bread restores 2 Health instantly, with no other effects. That is one of the smallest heals of any food in the game, so it is better used as a baking ingredient than as a meal in combat.

How to make it

With the Hearthfire add-on, Bread can be baked at an oven in a home you have built. One batch makes one loaf and needs:

Milk and flour are covered on the Cheese, Dairy and Baking Supplies page.

Where to find it

Besides baking it yourself, Bread exists as ready-made food in the world. The game has two Bread records (00065C97 and 00065C98) that share the same value, weight and effect.

Good to know

A loaf of Bread, combined with garlic and butter in the oven, becomes two pieces of Garlic Bread. Related loaves include Braided Bread and Potato Bread.

Where to find it

  • Baked at a Hearthfire home oven (Hearthfire).
  • Also found as ready-made food in the world.
