Apple Cabbage Stew

A hearty stew of red apple and cabbage seasoned with salt, cooked at any pot or spit to restore both Health and Stamina.

Apple Cabbage Stew is a simple country dish that pairs the sweetness of a red apple with plain cabbage and a pinch of salt. Like every cooking recipe in Skyrim, it is known from the very start of the game, so any character who has gathered the three ingredients can make it without training or perks. Cooking is not a skill, which makes stews like this a handy alternative to potions for characters who have not invested in Alchemy.

Effects

Eating the stew instantly restores 10 Health and 15 Stamina. It is a plain one-off restore with no lingering effect, which places it among the better everyday meals: most cooked food only heals five to ten points of a single attribute, while this one tops up two at once.

How to make it

Use any cooking pot or cooking spit with:

Both the apple and the cabbage are covered on the Fruit and Vegetables page.

Where to find it

The surest way to get Apple Cabbage Stew is to cook it yourself. Cooking pots are common across the province, for example in Riverwood, at Embershard Mine and in several inns and homes in Whiterun.

Good to know

The Hearthfire add-on gives this recipe a new look, but its ingredients and effects stay the same.
