Rundi was a Nord apprentice at the College of Winterhold and one of four students who went missing. Unlike most people who die in Skyrim’s snow, he seems to have done it on purpose – or at least in the name of research.
Where to find them
His frozen body stands at an unmarked spot called Rundi’s Altar, northwest of Journeyman’s Nook and southeast of Winterhold. Watch your step: the area is dotted with frost rune traps.
Quests
He is tied to the unfinished quest The Missing Apprentices. Phinis Gestor names Rundi and his brother among the vanished students, recalling they wanted to magically chill mead. Since the quest was never finished, no marker leads you to him. The scene suggests he was still experimenting with frost magic when the cold won.
Personality & relationships
Beyond the mead dream there is little to tell. His story overlaps with Borvir, whose body lies at Journeyman’s Nook nearby.
Good to know
- Loot includes Rundi’s Dagger, a Staff of Ice Spikes (the Ice Spike spell in a stick), a soul gem and the Alchemy skill book Mannimarco, King of Worms.
- His body sometimes doesn’t appear at all, or he shows up unfrozen and just stands on the altar with generic dialogue.
