Ragnar is a Nord miner in Karthwasten and the right-hand man of Ainethach, helping him supervise the town’s mines. He’s quick to admit that few Nords would work for a Reachman, but he considers his boss a good man.
Where to find them
Working inside Sanuarach Mine or at the smelter outside it. He sleeps in the Karthwasten Miner’s Barracks.
Quests
Ragnar can be one of the people you’re sent to save in the radiant quest “Rescue Mission” for the Companions.
Personality & relationships
Ragnar dislikes the Forsworn, but in his view the sellswords occupying the mine are even worse. He has no idea when they’ll leave, and when anyone asks, he points them to Ainethach.
His temper shows around Belchimac: when the Breton grumbles about Nords, Ragnar threatens him, then immediately apologizes. When Belchimac talks about joining the Forsworn, Ragnar warns him that they’re killers and he wouldn’t last a day.
Then there’s Lash gra-Dushnikh, who keeps admiring his strong arms. Ragnar is flattered but awkward – he turns down her hunting invitation because of work, and his attempt to return the compliment by saying she’d make a fine Nord falls flat.
