Igmund is the Nord Jarl of The Reach, ruling from Understone Keep in Markarth. He firmly supports the Empire and peace with the Thalmor – a stance shaped by the events of the Markarth Incident, which he explains was the spark of the Stormcloak rebellion.
Igmund and Ulfric
Igmund once had ties to Ulfric Stormcloak, but severed them when the Aldmeri Dominion threatened The Reach with war. Since then, he has stood with the Empire.
Quests
Igmund asks you to recover his father’s long-lost shield in “Recover Hrolfdir’s Shield”. Do that, help the people of the Reach and deal with some Forsworn, and he will make you Thane of the Reach – opening the way to buy Vlindrel Hall.
Civil War
If the Stormcloaks take the Reach, Igmund is replaced by Thongvor Silver-Blood, brother of the powerful Thonar Silver-Blood.
Good to know
Since Markarth is built of stone into the mountain, Igmund is the least worried of all the jarls about dragons burning his city down.
