Heavy Armor Forging

A Smithing skill book: Sven Two-Hammers' no-nonsense guide to making heavy armor.

Heavy Armor Forging is a short, practical manual. Sven Two-Hammers walks through the heavy armor families from iron and steel to Dwarven, Orcish, Ebony and Daedric, noting which metals each needs and how to treat them at the forge. He admits he has never seen Daedric armor made himself, and passes on the old tale that it must be forged at night – ideally under a red harvest moon – with a daedra heart thrown into the fire.

Skill book

Heavy Armor Forging is a Smithing skill book. The first time you read a copy, your Smithing skill goes up by one point – later copies of the same title don’t give anything extra, so there is no need to carry them around.

Notes

The ingredient lists in the book match the real crafting recipes closely, which makes it a nice in-world cheat sheet. See Light Armor Forging for the companion volume.
