Fine Armguards

Light jarl-style gauntlets with no enchantment, worn by Bryling, Idgrod Ravencrone and Korir – mostly a fashion piece for collectors.

Fine Armguards are light gauntlets with 7 base armor rating and a feather weight of 0.5. They carry no enchantment and are worth only a handful of septims. In short: these are a jarl’s dress gloves, made to look good at court rather than to stop an axe.

How to get it

According to the game files, three nobles wear them:

Since the gloves are worn, you either need high-level pickpocket perks or the jarl has to end up dead – and killing a jarl in front of their guards is a crime with a very loud price tag. Their position as a jarl can also change during the Civil War storyline, so keep an eye on who is sitting on the throne. There is no fixed chest or vendor for them.

Is it worth wearing?

Not for combat. Seven armor rating at base is roughly what you get from basic hide or leather gauntlets, and there is no enchantment to make up for it. Where they do make sense is role-play: a noble outfit, a mage who wants some style, or a display case full of unique items. They weigh almost nothing, so carrying them as a costume swap costs you nothing.

Good to know

  • A close relative of the Gilded Wristguards, another set of unenchanted noble gloves.
  • They count as light armor, so they will train Light Armor when you are hit.
