Beef Stew

A slow-cooked stew of raw beef, carrot and garlic that raises maximum Stamina and keeps it refilling for twelve minutes.

Beef Stew is one of the most useful meals a traveller in Skyrim can cook. Chunks of beef are simmered with carrot, garlic and salt into a thick stew that does far more than fill the stomach. Every character knows the recipe from the start, so all that is needed is the four ingredients and a cooking pot.

Effects

  • Maximum Stamina +25 for 720 seconds
  • Restores 2 Stamina per second for 720 seconds

Instead of a one-off heal, the stew gives a long twelve-minute buff. That makes it well suited to characters who rely on sprinting and power attacks, since the extra Stamina pool and steady regeneration reduce how often you have to stop and open a menu to recover.

How to make it

Where to find it

Cook it yourself at one of the many cooking places in the province, such as Alvor and Sigrid’s house in Riverwood or The Bannered Mare in Whiterun.

Good to know

If you only need a quick bite, the same beef can be turned into Cooked Beef with nothing but salt, though that dish only heals Health.

Where to find it

  • Cooked at any cooking pot or spit from Raw Beef, a Carrot, a Salt Pile and Garlic.
