Alto Wine

Alto Wine is a common bottled wine in Skyrim that gives back 15 Stamina but slows Stamina regeneration for half a minute.

Alto Wine is one of the ordinary bottled wines of Skyrim, a light consumable worth 12 gold that weighs half a unit. Like most alcohol in the game it trades a quick burst of energy for a short hangover-style penalty, so it is better treated as a snack than as a replacement for a real Restore Stamina potion. For the other bottles in the same family, see the general Wine page.

Effects

  • Restores 15 Stamina instantly.
  • Stamina regenerates 30% slower for 30 seconds afterwards.

The slowdown means the drink is most useful right before a fight or a sprint, when the instant refill matters more than the regeneration you lose over the next half minute.

Where to find it

Alto Wine is a regular food item rather than a quest reward, so bottles turn up as part of Skyrim’s general loot and food stock instead of at one fixed spot. It cannot be brewed or cooked by the player.

Good to know

  • The game contains two Alto Wine records (000C5349 and 0003133B) with identical value, weight and effects, so any bottle you pick up behaves the same way.
  • Jessica’s Wine is built on an Alto Wine bottle but carries a weaker effect.

Where to find it

  • Found as general loot and food stock around Skyrim.
  • Cannot be crafted.
