Firebrand Wine

Firebrand Wine is a warming bottle that restores Stamina and grants frost resistance, but no loose bottle can be found in normal play.

Firebrand Wine is a valuable bottle worth 137 gold, and its effects suggest a drink meant to keep the cold out. In practice it is one of Skyrim’s curiosities: the loose bottle exists in the game files, but it is placed only in developer test cells and in a hidden holding cell used by the Thieves Guild, from which it is never moved. Without console commands you cannot get one.

Effects

  • Restores 20 Stamina.
  • Stamina regenerates 30% slower for 45 seconds.
  • Resist 15% of frost damage for 45 seconds.

If you want real protection from cold, a Resist Frost potion is the practical choice.

Where to find it

There is no obtainable bottle in normal play. The name does come up in a quest, however: in Scoundrel’s Folly, choosing to bribe Gulum-Ei leads him to mention a client who wants a case of Firebrand Wine, and that case has to be stolen from the Blue Palace in Solitude. The case is its own miscellaneous quest item, not the drinkable bottle described here.

Where to find it

  • Only placed in test cells and the Thieves Guild holding cell; unobtainable in normal play.
  • A separate Firebrand Wine Case is stolen from the Blue Palace during Scoundrel’s Folly.
