Skyrim is a cold place, and plenty of its dangers attack with ice. Resist Frost potions, named of Resist Cold in-game, shrug off between 20% and 50% of frost damage for 60 seconds. Drink one before facing frost-casting mages or icy creatures and the damage they deal is cut noticeably. They are a sensible backup for any character, but especially for those without natural or enchanted resistance.

Where to find them
As leveled potions they turn up in loot, at merchants who sell potions and on characters across Skyrim. There is also a non-leveled twin: Ice Wraith Essence, looted from slain Ice Wraiths, works exactly like the Potion of Resist Cold.
Brewing your own
With the Alchemy skill you can brew the effect at an alchemy lab. These ingredients carry Resist Frost:
- Frost Mirriam
- Frost Salts
- Hawk Beak
- Moon Sugar
- Purple Mountain Flower
- Silverside Perch
- Slaughterfish Scales
- Small Pearl
- Snowberries
- Thistle Branch
With ten options, it is one of the easier resist potions to make. A third ingredient that shares another effect can add a bonus, for example pairing it with a second resistance.
