Fortify One-Handed Potions

The Warrior potions make one-handed weapons hit 20 to 50 percent harder for 60 seconds, a strong burst for sword, axe and mace users.

The Warrior potions give weapons governed by the One-Handed skill a flat damage boost for 60 seconds. Swords, war axes, maces and daggers all benefit, which makes these some of the most valuable combat potions for melee characters. Even the weakest tier adds 20% damage, and the top Elixir pushes that to 50%, enough to turn a long slog against a boss into a much shorter fight.

All tiers

Name Effect Value Weight Form ID
Potion of the Warrior One-handed weapons do 20% more damage for 60 seconds 96 0.5 0003eb2a
Draught of the Warrior One-handed weapons do 30% more damage for 60 seconds 151 0.5 00039954
Philter of the Warrior One-handed weapons do 40% more damage for 60 seconds 207 0.5 00039955
Elixir of the Warrior One-handed weapons do 50% more damage for 60 seconds 265 0.5 00039956

Where to find them

Like most leveled potions, Warrior potions are spread through loot and the stock of vendors who sell potions. The game scales many potions to the Dragonborn’s level, so expect the Draught, Philter and Elixir versions to appear more often as you progress.

Brewing your own

You can make Fortify One-Handed potions with the Alchemy skill by combining at least two ingredients that share the effect at an alchemy lab. These carry Fortify One-Handed:

Eating an ingredient reveals one of its effects, so once Fortify One-Handed is known you can select it straight from the lab menu instead of experimenting.

Tips

The 60-second window is short, so drink the potion just as the fight starts, not while you are still walking in. Melee builds often pair it with Restore Stamina potions to keep power attacks going, or with Fortify Block potions when fighting sword-and-shield.

Where to find it

  • Found as leveled loot throughout Skyrim.
  • Sold by vendors who stock potions.
  • Brewed at an alchemy lab with ingredients that have Fortify One-Handed.
