The Spiced Wine is a small trade dispute in Solitude. Market vendor Evette San cannot make her famous spiced wine because the East Empire Company is sitting on her shipment of spices, and she would like someone with a silver tongue to go down to the docks and sort it out. It is a quick miscellaneous quest in Haafingar.
How to start
- Talk to Evette San at her stall in Solitude’s market.
- She asks whether you have a few minutes to run down to the docks, explaining that the East Empire Company is holding her spices.
- Agree to help.
Walkthrough
Visit the East Empire Company office
Head down to the Solitude docks and enter the East Empire Company building near the East Empire Company Warehouse. Vittoria Vici stands behind the counter, daydreaming about her upcoming wedding, but she will still talk business.
Deal with the tariff
Ask her about the spice shipment and she tells you a tariff of 2,000 gold is owed before it can be released. You have three ways forward:
- Pay the full 2,000 gold tariff.
- Persuade her to waive the fee with a Speech check. The source notes that wearing an Amulet of Dibella can help with this.
- Bribe her for a smaller sum.
Whichever succeeds, Vittoria mentions she is fond of spiced wine herself and promises the shipment will be on its way soon.
Return to Evette
Go back to Evette San in the market and tell her the shipment is being released. She rewards you on the spot.
Rewards
- 2 bottles of Spiced Wine.
Tips and notes
- Paying 2,000 gold for two bottles of wine is a famously poor trade; persuasion or a bribe is far more economical, so consider coming back once your Speech is higher.
- The quest becomes unavailable once you complete the Dark Brotherhood quest Bound Until Death, since that quest concerns Vittoria’s wedding. Do The Spiced Wine first if you want both.
