The Nord Hero Sword is what happens when an Ancient Nord Sword gets a proper cleaning at the Skyforge. It keeps the old shape but looks far cleaner, deals 11 base damage and weighs just 9.
It’s a reward for loyal Companions, letting you turn tomb junk into a respectable one-hander. Its weight is the real selling point: it matches the damage of blades like the Elven Sword while being noticeably lighter.

Where to find
The Nord Hero Sword isn’t found as regular loot. You make it yourself at the Skyforge in Whiterun once the Companions questline is complete.

Tips and notes
- The recipe needs one Ancient Nord Sword, two steel ingots and two leather strips. A Honed Ancient Nord Sword won’t work.
- Improve it with a steel ingot; Steel Smithing doubles the improvement.
- Same base damage as the Honed Ancient Nord Sword, Nordic Sword, Scimitar, Skyforge Steel Sword, Elven Sword and Blades Sword, but lighter than all of them.
