Loreius Farm is a small wheat mill and farmstead on the road north of Whitewatch Tower, out on the plains north of Whiterun. It’s owned by Vantus Loreius and his wife Curwe, and on most days it would be a perfectly forgettable stop – if it weren’t for the cheerful little man standing beside a broken cart at the roadside.

Delayed Burial – by the road you meet Cicero, a jester whose cart has lost a wheel. He tells you the farmer refuses to lend a hand and leaves you to decide how to handle it: lend the jester a hand, or hear out Vantus’s side of the story first. Either way, it’s an odd little roadside encounter you’ll likely remember once you meet the Dark Brotherhood.

Tips
If you’re a budding cook or alchemist, the fields are a cheap way to stock up – just remember these vegetables belong to someone, so harvesting in plain sight of the owners may not win you friends. The farm sits right on a main road, which means it also sees plenty of passing traffic, both friendly and otherwise. It’s a handy waypoint when travelling north out of Whiterun, and a natural place to stop and check your map.
Good to know
Before you pick a side in the Civil War, you may witness a guard from Whiterun and a guard from Dawnstar coming to blows on the road here, simply because their Jarls support opposite factions. Nothing says neighbourly like a roadside brawl over politics.
