Snow Fox Pelt

Snow Fox Pelt is the white pelt of Skyrim’s snow foxes, light and slightly more valuable than a red fox pelt.

Snow Fox Pelt comes from the white foxes of Skyrim’s snowfields. Worth 7 gold, weighing 0.5 and tanning into 1 Leather, it is a slightly pricier Fox Pelt with much better camouflage. Spotting one against the snow is half the challenge.

How to get it

Hunt snow foxes in the northern holds around Winterhold and Dawnstar, and on Solstheim. No merchant lists it in the game data, so hunting and loose loot are your options.

Loose pelts sit in Wulf Wild-Blood’s House in Skaal Village (2) and decorate the Hearthfire homes Lakeview Manor, Heljarchen Hall and Windstad Manor (1 each). Others are found in Radiant Raiment in Solitude, Frossel, the Skaal Village Greathall, Highpoint Tower and Benkongerike.

Like the red fox, a snow fox pelt gives just one piece of Leather, so it is mostly useful as a top-up when you are one piece short of a recipe. The pelts in the Hearthfire homes are nice decoration, but they are free to take once the house is yours. Feel free to leave them on the wall, though.
