Grosta is a Nord lumberjack who owns and runs Heartwood Mill in the Rift. She’s friendly enough to travellers, but the disappearance of her husband has clearly left her hardened, and she bluntly predicts the mill will go under within a few seasons without him.
Where to find them
She lives and works at Heartwood Mill with her son Gralnach.
Quests
In Flight or Fight, Grosta asks you to find out what happened to her husband Leifnarr, who she says was heading for Broken Helm Hollow. She’s convinced he ran off with another woman, but exploring the hollow tells a very different story, and the truth leaves her feeling foolish for doubting him.
Services
Grosta buys firewood at five gold a piece, an easy way to earn a little coin. With Hearthfire installed she also sells Sawn Logs for your homestead. Offer to saw logs yourself and she happily takes the break, though the logs you cut don’t actually end up in your inventory.
Personality & relationships
Grosta is curt whenever Leifnarr comes up, but underneath the bitterness she still wants answers. She’s raising Gralnach alone and keeping the business afloat as best she can.
Good to know
The objective to report Leifnarr’s fate is known to break, leaving no option to tell Grosta or Gralnach. Picking up the quest from her before exploring Broken Helm Hollow usually avoids the problem.
