Krosis

Krosis is one of the three light-armor dragon priest masks, and its name means “Sorrow”. With an armor rating of 21 and a weight of only 5, it suits sneaky characters perfectly. Its enchantment, Krosis’ Subterfuge, makes lockpicking 20% easier, makes bows hit 20% harder and makes the potions you brew 20% stronger. If your character lives in the shadows with a bow in one hand and a lockpick in the other, this mask was practically made for you.

How to get it

Krosis waits at Shearpoint, a dragon lair on a mountain peak. He does not fight alone: a leveled dragon usually shares the summit with him, often perched on top of the word wall. Expect a messy two-front battle. Taking the dragon down first, or at least luring it away, makes the fight far easier. Once the dragon priest falls, loot the mask from his remains. Do not forget to learn the word from the wall while you are there.

Is it worth wearing?

For a stealth archer it is one of the best helmets in the game, because all three bonuses support the same playstyle. Archery damage is what you will feel most, but the alchemy boost quietly adds up too, especially if you brew while wearing it. Mages and heavy warriors will get far less out of it. Compared with a Thieves Guild hood, it gives better protection and covers more skills at once. It is tempered with an Iron Ingot, so upgrading it costs almost nothing. Argonians, Bosmer and Khajiit, who naturally lean towards stealth, will love it.

Good to know

• It is one of the eight masks needed at the Bromjunaar shrine in Labyrinthian to unlock Konahrik.
• Being light armor, it works with light armor perks and skills.
• Masks given to followers can vanish from their inventory over time.
