Lingering poisons trade raw power for persistence. Instead of a single burst, a weapon coated with one of these keeps the target taking poison damage for a while after the hit, between 10 and 20 seconds depending on the tier. The numbers in the base bottles are small, ranging from 1 to 3 points of poison damage, so this family is more of a nuisance than a finisher for anything tougher than a wolf. Still, it adds up when a fleeing enemy cannot shake the effect.

Where to find them
Ready-made poisons appear as loot in the game world and in characters’ inventories, and potion sellers can carry them as well. Because the family is leveled to the Dragonborn, low-level characters mostly see the weak versions, while the Malign and Deadly bottles show up later in the game.
Brewing your own
With the Alchemy skill you can brew lingering poisons and then apply them to your weapon from the inventory. The effect appears on Imp Stool, Mora Tapinella, Orange Dartwing, Slaughterfish Egg and Slaughterfish Scales. Mixing any two of them at an alchemy lab gives a Lingering Damage Health poison.
Tips
The damage numbers are small, so these bottles work best as a supplement to a strong opening hit rather than as your main source of damage. For a heavier single hit, look at Damage Health poisons.
