Not every threat in Skyrim announces itself with a sword. Diseases quietly weaken you, and poisons keep hurting long after the blade or fang has left you. These two remedies exist to undo exactly that. The Potion of Cure Disease clears every disease you are suffering from in one gulp, while Cure Poison stops a poison’s ongoing effect in its tracks. Neither is glamorous, but both can spare you a nasty surprise in the middle of a dungeon.
All tiers
| Name | Effect | Value | Weight | Form ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Potion of Cure Disease | Cures all diseases. | 79 | 0.5 | 000AE723 |
| Cure Poison | Stops poison’s continuing effects. | 31 | 0.5 | 00065A64 |
Unlike most potion families, these are not graded into weaker and stronger versions. Each is a single record with a fixed effect.
Where to find them
Like other ready-made potions, both remedies turn up in the stock of vendors and as loot in containers and on defeated foes across the province. They are light at 0.5 weight each, so there is little reason not to keep one of each in your pack.
Brewing your own
Cure Disease is one of the effects you can brew yourself at an alchemy lab with the Alchemy skill. These ingredients carry it:
Any two of them combined produce a Cure Disease potion. If you have not discovered an ingredient’s effects yet, eating it reveals them one at a time.
Tips
- Drink Cure Disease as soon as you notice a disease in your active effects, since their penalties stay until you deal with them.
- Save Cure Poison for fights against enemies that rely on poison over time; it does nothing against instant damage already taken.
- For damage that has already landed, pair these with Restore Health potions.
