Pavo Attius is an Imperial miner and the owner of Kolskeggr Mine in the hills near Markarth. When you first meet him he is a refugee: the Forsworn raided his mine in the night and killed everyone except him and his friend Gat gro-Shargakh.
Where to find them
At first Pavo is staying at Left Hand Mine outside Markarth, run by Skaggi Scar-Face, who sends word to the Jarl after hearing Pavo’s story. Once his mine is cleared, Pavo moves back to Kolskeggr and works there with Gat.
Quests
- Kolskeggr Mine – ask Pavo (or Skaggi) about the mine and offer to deal with the Forsworn. Pavo thinks you will not stand a chance, but he will be very grateful if you prove him wrong. The reward is a small, leveled amount of gold.
- Mine Ore – a radiant job: dig ore and get paid for it.
If Pavo never leaves the miners’ barracks after you clear the mine, you cannot finish the quest without trespassing; sneaking in and talking to him there is the usual workaround.
Services
Back at Kolskeggr, Pavo buys gold ore from you at 50 gold per piece.
Follower & marriage
Pavo can be married once you have completed the Kolskeggr Mine quest. Wear an Amulet of Mara when you speak to him to start courting.
Personality & relationships
Pavo and Gat are old comrades from the Imperial Legion who fought the Thalmor in the Great War. Gat remembers those days fondly; Pavo mostly remembers being terrified. Their chats at the mine cover everything from whether the Forsworn will return (Gat doubts it) to why Gat would rather stay than fight his own brother for a place back home. After the mine reopens, Pavo is simply happy to be home, cheerfully claiming they are digging more ore than ever.
Good to know
If Pavo dies after his quest is done, a courier may bring you a Letter of Inheritance with some of his gold, minus the Jarl’s tax.
