Elynea Mothren is a Dunmer alchemist and mycologist on Solstheim (Dragonborn). She runs the apothecary at Tel Mithryn and looks after the living mushroom towers of the wizard Neloth. She likes the place mainly because hardly anyone bothers her there. People, in her view, are irritating. Fungi are much better company.
Where to find them
You will find her in the Tel Mithryn Apothecary, one of the mushroom buildings in Neloth’s compound. She mentions feeding the mushrooms a drop of blood now and then, so maybe do not ask too many follow-up questions.
Quests
- Healing a House – Neloth has ordered her to fix a withered tower or be replaced. She asks you to collect three taproots (cut from a spriggan, or bought) and soak them in the Headwaters of Harstrad. She quietly keeps two of them for herself and has you plant the third.
- Elynea’s Ingredients – a repeatable radiant task to fetch a rare alchemy ingredient for her.
- Reluctant Steward – she can tell you that Varona Nelas left for Raven Rock to pick up some fresh blisterwort for her.
Services
Elynea is an alchemy merchant. Her stock leans heavily towards fungi such as blisterwort, white cap and Namira’s rot, but she also sells other ingredients and potions.
Personality & relationships
As a young girl she lived through the eruption of Red Mountain. Her mother put her on a boat to Skyrim, and she never saw her again. She later took up the study of fungi, which eventually drew her to Tel Mithryn. She is quick to point out that Neloth grew the tower long before she was born, but she is the one who keeps it alive. She grumbles that he still acts like a Telvanni clan leader, and after decades of service she is outraged that he would threaten to throw her out. She signs off with Dunmer blessings in the names of Azura and Mephala.
