Elynea’s Ingredients is a miscellaneous quest from the Dragonborn DLC. Elynea Mothren, the mycologist who runs the apothecary at Neloth’s tower Tel Mithryn on Solstheim, is always short of some rare alchemy ingredient. Bring her what she asks for and she pays well, with a sharp comment on the side.
How to start
The quest becomes available once you have finished Healing a House. Go to the Tel Mithryn Apothecary and ask Elynea whether she needs any help. She names a single rare ingredient she is after.

Find out what she wants
Each time the quest starts only one objective is active, so she asks for just one of these:
- Daedra heart – she notes she cannot exactly grow one in her garden.
- Giant’s toe – she is running low and offers extra pay. Harvested from a giant.
- Hagraven claw – taken from a hagraven; again she offers extra.
- Vampire dust – she promises to pay handsomely.
- Briarheart – the one she really needs, because Neloth keeps taking all of hers.
- Void salts – she claims she will beat anyone else’s price.
Deliver the ingredient
If the requested item is already in your inventory, you can hand it over on the spot. Otherwise go out and find it, then come back to the apothecary. Elynea always has a little remark about the condition of what you bring, from complaints that the briarheart is still bloody to a grudging admission that your void salts are of better than average quality.
Rewards
- Daedra heart: 350 gold
- Void salts: 200 gold
- Giant’s toe, hagraven claw, vampire dust or briarheart: 100 gold
Tips and notes
- Since only one ingredient is requested per run, it pays to carry a small stock of these items when visiting Tel Mithryn so you can complete the request immediately.
- The daedra heart is by far the most lucrative request, worth more than three times the common ones.
- Elynea is also the quest giver for Healing a House, and her complaints about Neloth are a running theme in both quests.
