Paid in Full is a Dragonborn miscellaneous quest for members of the Thieves Guild. In Raven Rock on Solstheim lives Glover Mallory, a Breton smith and the brother of Delvin Mallory. A fellow Breton who knew the Guild’s shadowmarks tricked him and walked off with his prized bonemold formula, and Glover would like it back.
How to start
- Complete Taking Care of Business, receive the Thieves Guild Armor from Tonilia, and talk to both Delvin and Vex.
- Visit Glover Mallory in Raven Rock and mention the shadowmark by his door.
Walkthrough
Talk to Glover
Glover is glad to see someone from the Guild, asks after his brother (and whether Delvin is still pining after Vex at the Ragged Flagon) and complains that work is scarce. Push him and he admits the Guild has a problem out here that he caused himself. A Breton named Esmond Tyne turned up roughly two weeks earlier, recognised the shadowmarks, and Glover took him for a Guild member. Esmond then stole Glover’s formula for improved bonemold, years of work. Before vanishing, Esmond had talked about selling goods to the Rieklings at Castle Karstaag. Glover suspects he is either dead or hiding there.
Recover the Bonemold Formula
Travel to Castle Karstaag Caverns in the far north of the island. Inside, follow a small stream west, then turn south where the ground gives way to icy water. Several Rieklings guard the area. On an ice shelf to the east lies the body of Esmond Tyne. Loot the Bonemold Formula from him.
Reading the formula teaches you to forge improved Bonemold Armor at a forge, so it is worth opening before you hand it over.
Bring the formula to Glover
Return to Raven Rock and tell Glover that Esmond is dead but the formula is safe. He is unsurprised that Esmond met a bad end and gives you a key. It opens a locked door in the basement of his house, and you may take whatever you find inside.

Tips and notes
- If you already carry the formula when you first meet Glover, you can hand it in straight away during the opening conversation.
- Castle Karstaag Caverns is also where Summoning Karstaag takes place, so you can combine the trips.
