Small Dwemer Plate Metal is one of the lighter bits of Dwarven junk scattered around Skyrim’s ancient ruins. It weighs 2 and is worth 15 gold, which is nothing special, but at a smelter it turns into a
Dwarven Metal Ingot. Those ingots are what you need for Dwarven Armor and weapons once you have the Dwarven Smithing perk, so this is one piece of scrap that is actually worth carrying out.
How to get it
Look for it lying around in Dwemer ruins rather than in ore veins. The Boilery in Mzulft has 9 pieces, the Aedrome 7, and the main ruin 2 more, making Mzulft the top spot overall. In Markarth, Calcelmo‘s Laboratory holds 8 pieces and the Dwemer Museum another 10 across its rooms, though you will need to be sneaky to clear it out.
The Nchuand-Zel ruins under Markarth add 6 in the Quarters and 2 at the Excavation Site, and the ruined tower of Alftand has 2. The Deep Market in Raldbthar has another 2. Falmer occasionally carry a piece or two as well, so check their bodies after every fight in the deep ruins.

Good to know
- At 2 weight it is one of the easiest Dwemer scraps to haul, so grab it even when your bags are getting full.
